Questions

The things people ask

Is there a contract, and how long am I tied in?

Yes, and you can read it before you pay anything. It sets out what I deliver, what I don’t, what you own, and how either of us ends it.

Google Review Requests has no minimum term. Fourteen days free, then month to month at the price in your agreement, and you can stop whenever you like.

The other three plans run three months, then month to month with 30 days’ notice. The three months start the day you sign up and make your first payment. You see a walkthrough of the finished build and get one round of changes before it goes live.

Who owns the domain?

You do, from day one, and it stays in your name. If you ever leave I release or repoint it for you.

What happens if I cancel?

On Google Review Requests, tell me and it stops at the end of the month you have already paid for. No notice period, no minimum.

On the other plans, after the three months it is 30 days’ notice. If you want to stop during the three months you can say so any time — everything keeps running and you are billed monthly to the end of it. Nothing is accelerated and there is no lump sum.

Either way, your domain, photos, content and customer data stay yours. An Iron Cedar managed site may come down; an existing site you kept stays yours, with my connections removed.

Can you work with my current website?

If your current site is doing its job, it can stay. I can connect the approved form, telephone routing and response automations without forcing a replacement. Your current provider keeps responsibility for that site's hosting and maintenance.

How long does implementation take?

Typically 7–10 days — but the clock starts when your onboarding questionnaire comes back, not when you pay.

That one document is the whole build. Your services, your service areas, your hours, licence and insurance numbers, your photos, and the business details the phone carriers require. Until it lands there is nothing to build from, so it is the single biggest thing inside your control.

The other one is access to your Google Business Profile, which is why we start that on day one. Do both in the first couple of days and 7–10 is realistic. Leave them sitting for a fortnight and the launch moves by a fortnight. I will chase you, politely and more than once.

Do you run advertising?

No. Get the site and your reviews right first — ads send people somewhere, and if that somewhere isn't ready the money is wasted. Run them afterwards with whoever you like.

How does text-message compliance work?

Automated texting to your customers is registered under your business — your legal name, your tax ID, your opt-in wording — because you're the sender of record. Every message identifies you and carries opt-out handling, and anyone who opts out is suppressed immediately. That registration happens during onboarding and has to be approved before messaging switches on.

How does the 14-day free trial work?

It applies to Google Review Requests. I set it up, connect it to your Google listing, and it starts asking your customers. You put a card on file at the start and nothing is charged for fourteen days. On day 15 the first monthly charge goes through, and I email you before that happens rather than after. Cancel any time in the fourteen days with one message and you pay nothing. There is no minimum term on this plan afterwards either.

It starts with a Review Burst. In your first week, every past customer you send me gets one email from your business asking for a review, with your photo and their first name on it, then one reminder. Everyone on the list is asked — nobody is picked out.

What I will not promise is a number of reviews in two weeks. If you finish two jobs in that fortnight, two customers get asked. If you finish thirty, thirty do. What the trial shows you is the system running on your real customers, in your words, with you watching.

Requests go by email during the trial. Text messaging needs your business registered with the phone carriers, which takes longer than fourteen days and is not something anyone can rush. It switches on when they approve you, at no extra cost.

Is there a discount for paying yearly?

Yes — a month free. Pay twelve months up front and you pay for eleven, on any plan.

You are not locked in. Cancel whenever you want with thirty days' notice and I refund the whole months you did not use, at one twelfth of what you paid. You keep the yearly price on the months you did use.

On the first year of the three larger plans I keep an amount equal to three months, which is the same three-month start these plans always have — it is not an extra charge. After the first twelve months I keep nothing. Google Review Requests has no minimum at all, so every unused month comes back.

Are telephone and messaging charges included?

Your monthly price includes up to 500 text messages and 300 call minutes — comfortably more than a typical contractor month. Past that I pass the carrier charge through to you at cost, rather than absorb it quietly or surprise you later. I'm not going to promise unlimited anything that I get invoiced for.

Do you do AI phone answering?

Not yet. I'd rather do one thing properly than launch a half-built receptionist on a paying client. It's on the list once the core system is proven with real contractors — here is that list, and what has to be true first. Nothing on it has a date, and nothing on it is a reason to wait.

Your work already shows your standards.
Your website and follow-up should too.

The free part is a Google Business Profile audit: two or three issues I can back up with evidence that may be making it harder for customers to understand or contact you, yours to keep whether we work together long term or not. The rest of the twenty minutes is yours. Bring your website, or the part of the job that keeps eating your evenings, and I'll tell you straight whether I can help.
